The challenge was keenly contested. About 70,000 thousand applications were received across the length and breadth of Nigeria, after which 2,000 participants were selected and onboarded on Microsoft Teams for mentorship and skillup sessions which centered on:
The participants were pruned down to the top 100 then the top 50 were selected after which the final top ten were selected to pitch their ideas/solution at the grand finale which took place at the Microsoft Africa Development Center (ADC) office in Lagos, Nigeria. The top teams selected according to their position are:
The Winner (Software Chasers) went home with the prize seed fund of 2,500,000 Naira. The first runner-up (FarmSquare) won 1,500,000 and the second runner-up (Farmers Market) 1,000,000 won Naira. Fourth place won 750,000, fifth 650,000, sixth 550,000, seventh 450,000, eight 350,000, ninth 250,000 and the tenth position went home 150,000. In addition, all the top 10 finalist will be onboarded to the Microsoft Global Social Entrepreneurship Programme, they will also have access to NITDA IT Hub, and they were all awarded FREE voucher to take the Microsoft Azure Fundamentals (AZ-900) Certification Examination.
